On May 14th. The Northern Branch of the Steelhead Society held a fundraiser BBQ in conjunction with the grand opening of Oscar’s Source for Adventure in Smithers B.C. We set up two tables on Main St. in front of Oscar’s, one table with our BBQ, food, and donation box. The other table with SSBC memberships and an information sheet outlining our Telkwa River Coho Pond Project, for which the funds raised were to be directed. All of the food served was donated from local business and sold “by donation” to the Steelhead Society. Our local radio station The Peak was onsite and interviewed us on what the Steelhead Society stands for and about the local projects with which we are engaged. This was a great event that provided exposure to the community while raising funds for a good cause.
