The Steelhead Society of BC was formed in 1970 by a group of dedicated fisherman who were concerned about the plight of their favourite game fish: the Wild Pacific Steelhead Trout. Since its beginning, the Society has come to represent all those people, anglers or not, who may live by a phrase: “if it matters to a Steelhead, it matters to me.”
Over the course of the many thousands of years that Steelhead and Salmon have survived and persisted in their native range on the Pacific coast, they evolved many adaptations unique to their home rivers. The unfortunate thing was that they never evolved or needed a language that humans could interpret up until now.
Now is your chance to help speak for them. If you support the preservation, conservation, and restoration of Wild Steelhead, Salmon, and Trout, and the Wild Rivers they inhabit, then you should consider becoming a member.
